Grindy is a 3D Hero Model of a Robot that was made for the Game Art 2 course in DAE. It started as a simple prompt from the teachers: a gardening robot made by Joe's Rusty Garage Bots. I quickly started to fantasize about this crazy scarecrow robot that would scare away pests when you weren't looking. (it's safe to say I am a bit of a horror freak). Sadly, I realized it wasn't appropriate for the assignment, so I pivoted to a more readable design. I wanted Grindy to feel fast, crazy, and fun, so I focused on being as expressive as possible with the shapes and colors. From concepting, to modeling, to baking, texturing, rigging, and finally rendering in Unity, I built Grindy completely from the ground up. I am genuinelly proud of the final result, and I learned a ton about the entire 3D pipeline while making it.
